About the Role
The Project and Network Engineer plays a pivotal role in managing and executing end-to-end IT infrastructure and networking projects — from design and presales engagement to deployment and ongoing support. This role combines strong technical proficiency in IP networking with hands-on project management to ensure that all solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, risk management, and budget control.
- Configure, implement, and maintain network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform IP network setup, including configuration of IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
- Conduct system integration, onsite configuration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth project deployment.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external vendors to coordinate project deliverables and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Provide escalation support for complex technical issues during implementation and maintenance phases.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including progress reports, project plans, and post-implementation reviews.
- Serve as a technical liaison between clients, internal solution architects, and development teams to ensure alignment and client satisfaction.
- Facilitate project handover from presales to operations, ensuring clear understanding of scope, deliverables, and client requirements.
Requirements
- Higher Nitec or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in network engineering and project management, preferably within system integration or IT infrastructure environments.
- Strong working knowledge of IP networking, subnetting, routing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles.
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless network systems; familiarity with network monitoring tools is an advantage.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-driven and organized, able to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision.
