Job summary

A leading utilities group in Singapore is seeking a Project Manager responsible for overseeing multiple projects from pre-sales to customer acceptance. The role includes establishing project objectives, managing project budgets, and ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality standards. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, at least 5 years in project management, and experience in the EMS/BMS/PLC industry. Familiarity with SCADA, IoT, and various industrial protocols is essential.

Leading Utilities Group company

Duration: 2 years extendable/convertible

Working Location: Kallang Sector, standby to travel to another site if required.

Working hours: 08.30am – 6.00pm (Monday to Friday)

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing multiple projects from pre‑sales to customer acceptance. This includes the supervision, direction, and motivation of the project team during planning, design, installation, start‑up, commissioning, and handover phases.

Job Duties
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.
  • Work with internal and external parties to plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with assigned projects which include not but limited to:
    • engineering team and technical supervisors to discuss such matters as work procedures, scope-and‑scheduling and work sequence, project‑specific safety plans, etc.
    • internal Business Owners to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
    • work with engineers, sub‑contractors to produce shop drawings and all project deliverables.
    • sales team and the customer to identify any variances from the baseline and determine appropriate course of action to remedy any schedule slippage.
    • Technical Operations and Procurement Team to manage RFPs for subcontractors, review subcontractor proposals for completeness and scope coverage, furnish information to complete subcontract agreements including scope of work, pricing, and customer‑specific requirements.
    • Customers on schedule updates and any schedule slippage remedies
  • Develop project schedules in compliance with customer requirements, deadlines, and or milestones; develop mechanisms to track schedule progress and update schedule regularly.
  • Develop project budget based on the estimate/proposal including the budget breakdown by task and appropriate tracking units; develop cost codes for tasks/units.
  • Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on‑site personnel to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate the requisition of products and materials to complete project.
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.
  • Negotiate and approve subcontract scope changes in accordance with all customer contract requirements i.e., the main contract conditions which flow through the subcontract.
  • Perform regular quality audit for all the suppliers and sub‑contractors.
  • Maintain open communication with the customer and discuss potential future projects.
  • Ensure that all work completed is filed and invoiced. Follow‑up on payment from customers and verify payment to our suppliers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience.
  • 5+ Years of Experience in the EMS/BMS/PLC industry with an understanding of overall design will be preferred.
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in industrial networks/protocols such as BACnet, Ethernet‑IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus etc will be preferred.
  • Experience in SCADA products and IOT projects is a must.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, including mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive working attitude.
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Standardizing of the deliverables including software points list, documentation etc.
  • Experience in Solar PV and Battery Storage projects is a plus.
