Lai Yew Seng Pte Ltd (LYS) is a specialist contractor in structural steel, hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) systems, crash-rated bollards, gates, and precision fabrication delivering for Singapore’s top main contractors.

We are growing, and we’re looking for a Project Manager who knows how to run projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

This role is hands‑on. You’ll run the job from award to completion:

Project Execution

• Lead structural steel, building works, bollard installations and integrated works

• Translate drawings, technical specs, and site conditions into a clear construction plan

• Coordinate fabrication, delivery, manpower, lifting, installation, testing & commissioning

• Plan site logistics, sequence of works and safety requirements

• Manage subcontractors, workers, clients and main con site teams

Technical & Engineering

• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings

• Identify design clashes, buildability issues and gaps early

• Use AutoCAD / basic CAD tools to prepare shop drawings or mark‑ups

• Work closely with our in‑house drafter and engineers

• Handle method statements, RA/MOS, authority submission requirements

Planning & Scheduling

• Build realistic schedules

• Track progress and manpower

• Anticipate delays and clear roadblocks

• Push projects to completion

  (building works, structural steel, façade, railings, or similar)

• Has a sense of urgency and ownership

• Solves problems calmly and decisively

• Knows how to plan

• Can communicate clearly with clients, workers and suppliers

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or Construction Management

• Proficient in AutoCAD (basic drawing editing is sufficient)

• Strong construction sequencing knowledge

• Able to manage workers and subcontractors

• Familiar with RA/MOS, PTW, safety requirements
