Job summary

A construction company in Singapore is seeking a Project Assistant to support the Project Manager in monitoring daily progress and preparing project reports. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Engineering, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in planning tools like Primavera P6. This role involves evaluating project requirements, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and conducting site assessments. The successful applicant will work closely with different engineering teams and contribute to successful project closures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in similar or related industries.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and assist Project Manager to monitor daily progress.
  • Prepare progress reports and update status in Primavera P6.
  • Evaluate project requirements, materials, and labor loading.
  • Explain technical requirements and execution priorities to work teams.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety specifications.
  • Resolve engineering issues on-site.
  • Prepare project close-out report.
  • Ensure final acceptance of the project by client.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • 1. Plan and assist the Project Manager to monitor the daily progress of activities to achieve on or before schedule, i.e., by comparing the planned vs actual progress status, identify critical activities.
  • 2. Preparation of progress reports/data and to update the progress into Primavera P6.
  • 3. Understand and evaluate the project requirements and project plans particularly, materials, schedule, equipment and labour loading.
  • 4. To explain the site situation, technical requirements, project specifications, special engineering requirements, coordination procedures, execution approach and activities priorities to the various work teams to seek contributions for further refinement.
  • 5. Ensure that various disciplines (including quality and safety personnel) are carrying out each task and tests/inspection in accordance with specification and standards as per the contractual requirements.
  • 6. Assist in resolving engineering issues at site, coordinating with the respective engineering support units.
  • 7. Carry out other duties as and when assigned by immediate superior or higher management.
  • 8. Preparation of project close-out report for Project Manager to review before submission to clients.
  • 9. Ensure final acceptance of the project by client in accordance with contractual requirements.
Qualification & Experience Generally Required
  • 1. Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Chemical/Engineering or its equivalent.
  • 2. Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the same capacity, preferable in similar or related industries.
  • 3. Good technical competency.
  • 4. Good Communication skills; both verbal and writing in English.
  • 5. Knowledge and application of planning tools such as Primavera P6/P3, MS-Project is essential.
