Production Support Analyst (L1)

Job Description
We are seeking a Production Support Analyst to provide day-to-day application and system support for critical business applications in a 24×7 production environment. The role involves incident management, system monitoring, batch processing, and coordination with internal technology teams to ensure high system availability and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1 production support for business-critical applications in accordance with SLA requirements
- Investigate, log, track, and resolve production incidents and user queries in a timely manner
- Perform daily Start-of-Day (SOD) and End-of-Day (EOD) checks to ensure successful system operations
- Monitor batch jobs and system health using enterprise monitoring tools
- Perform log analysis and basic root cause investigation for production issues
- Execute SQL and AS/400 queries to support issue analysis and resolution
- Write and maintain basic UNIX shell scripts to support operational tasks
- Coordinate with system engineers, infrastructure teams, and vendors during incidents, patches, and upgrades
- Support disaster recovery (DR) drills and operational readiness activities
- Ensure proper documentation of incidents, procedures, and operational runbooks
- Participate in shift-based onsite support, including weekends and public holidays when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 6 months of production / application support experience, preferably in banking or financial services
- Hands-on experience supporting Open Systems (UNIX/Linux) and/or AS/400 environments
- Strong understanding of batch processing and job scheduling
- Experience with system and application monitoring tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment
- Willingness to work in 24×7 shift-based support model
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage user interactions professionally
