JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Product Design Department

Reporting to: Product Design Section Leader or Parts Design/Value Added Section Leader

Functional Relationships with:

  • All departments in Murata Electronics Singapore (Pte.) Ltd., Tuas site.
  • Design department in Tohoku Murata Manufacturing, Japan.
POSITION PROFILE

Based in: Singapore

Job Site: Tuas

The successful candidate will support the Product Design team by performing technical hands‑on tasks related to sample preparation, testing, inspection, measurement, and documentation to facilitate product development, evaluations, and quality improvements.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the engineer in preparing, packing, and shipping cell and material samples for internal trials or customer evaluations.
  • Assist the engineer in managing the preparation and transfer of samples/materials for trials and evaluations.
  • Assist the engineer in drafting design drawings or technical standards.
  • Assist the engineer in sample making, line trials or test runs.
  • Conduct basic analysis and measurements including X‑ray check, microscope measurement, material properties analysis & etc.
  • Maintain & stock count engineering samples and materials.
  • Perform tasks or projects assigned by superior (including secondary appointment).
  • To be aware of workplace safety & health (WSH) policy. Follow all WSH safety procedures, rules, and regulations. To identify & eliminate or reduce hazard at workplace.
  • To be aware of environmental policy, objective, target & corporate’s requirement.
ABILITY / COMPETENCY REQUIRED
  • NITEC / Higher NITEC/ Engineering Diploma or equivalent holder. Mechanical / Material / Chemical Engineering are preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing sector is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab tools and instruments (e.g., microscope, tensile tester, surface roughness equipment)
  • Able to work well as a team player while being independent and pro‑active.
  • Positive attitude in challenging work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office. Familiar with AutoCAD, SolidWorks & statistics are added advantages.
  • Proficient in English (written & spoken).
  • Able to work in clean room & dry room (0% humidity).
  • Able to work in 12 hrs shift work.
