Job description

Location: Tuas, Singapore (on-site)

Job Overview
  • The Procurement Specialist will handle sourcing and purchasing activities for our new Singapore site, work closely with cross‑functional teams to help procure equipment, lab instruments, raw materials and indirect goods—supporting the project through construction into daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support end‑to‑end purchasing activities: prepare RFQs/RFPs, collect and compare supplier quotations, and recommend suppliers for approval.
  • Raise and track purchase orders (POs), follow up on delivery schedules and ensure timely receipt of goods/services.
  • Assist with tender documentation, basic contract administration and commercial change tracking under manager guidance.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams (engineering, logistics, finance, China project team) to resolve day‑to‑day procurement issues.
  • Maintain supplier records, vendor evaluations and procurement databases; support onboarding and qualification activities.
  • Ensure procurement actions comply with internal policies and local regulations; maintain audit‑ready documentation.
  • Support customs/import coordination and logistics paperwork where required.
  • Produce regular procurement reports and help identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
  • Experience in chemical materials, equipment or lab instruments procurement/purchasing.
  • Strong English and Chinese (Mandarin) communication skills — reading, writing and speaking, to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in China and overseas.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good negotiation and supplier‑relationship skills.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and comfortable learning ERP / procurement systems.
