Job summary

A leading construction material supplier in Singapore is looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing and supplier selection for construction materials. The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in a related field and at least 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction. Responsibilities include issuing RFQs, managing purchase orders, and coordinating deliveries. Strong negotiation and analytical skills are essential. Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for construction materials, consumables, and services.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate quotations, and conduct price negotiations.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders in line with project and production schedules.
  • Track and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely arrival and resolve supply issues or delays.
  • Work closely with Production, QA/QC Engineering teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in material forecasting to avoid shortages or excess.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures.
  • Assist in vendor performance assessments and price benchmarking.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant procurement documentation.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction, precast, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials (e.g., cement, rebar, aggregates, concrete accessories) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP or procurement software.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Team player with a positive work attitude and initiative.
