Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

• Source, evaluate, and onboard manufacturers for powder metal, machining, stamping, and precision components.
• Request, compare, and negotiate quotations to achieve best cost, lead time, and quality.
• Drive cost-down initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
• Ensure suppliers meet commercial, technical, and compliance standards.

Purchase Planning & Forecast Management

• Work closely with Sales to understand sales forecast, demand outlook, and confirmed orders.
• Translate sales forecast into procurement plans, ensuring timely ordering of materials / parts.
• Plan purchase cycles to balance lead time, MOQ, safety stock, and inventory cost.
• Monitor changes in demand and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
• Maintain rolling forecasts and ensure readiness for upcoming projects / customer demand.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Build and manage strong supplier relationships across China, SEA, and global partners.
• Track supplier performance: delivery reliability, quality, pricing stability, responsiveness.
• Resolve supply issues, delays, and risks promptly.
• Support supplier onboarding and performance improvement.

Operational Purchasing

• Issue purchase orders and contracts with pricing and terms accuracy.
• Track production schedules and ensure on-time deliveries.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance.

Risk, Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier database.
• Track purchase cost, supplier spend, and procurement metrics.
• Identify supply risks and propose mitigation plans.
• Help develop SOPs for structured, scalable procurement processes.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing / industrial procurement preferred (powder metal, machining, stamping, precision parts a plus).
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and coordination capabilities.
• Experience with demand planning / purchase planning / inventory planning preferred.
• Understanding of lead time, MOQ, tooling cost, logistics, and production schedules.
• Proficient in Excel / costing tools.
• Independent, responsible, structured, and solutions-driven.
• Chinese language proficiency is an advantage (for China supplier communication).

Nice to Have

• Experience with China / Vietnam / Thailand manufacturing suppliers.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and basic technical understanding.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and supplier quality systems.
