Position Overview

Our client is seeking Process Technician x 5 for a petrochemical plant on Jurong Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production in accordance with operational and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor process units and equipment (e.g., reactors, distillation columns, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers) to ensure smooth and safe plant operations.

  • Perform routine checks, sampling, and testing to maintain product quality and process efficiency.

  • Adjust control parameters and equipment settings based on operating conditions and production targets.

  • Respond promptly to process upsets, alarms, and equipment abnormalities; take corrective actions and report issues to the Shift Supervisor or Engineer.

  • Conduct line-ups, isolation, and equipment preparation for maintenance or shutdown activities.

  • Participate in start-up, shutdown, and turnaround operations in accordance with plant procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of operating data, shift logs, and reports.

  • Support continuous improvement, reliability, and housekeeping initiatives within the plant area.

  • Work effectively as part of a rotating shift team to maintain 24/7 operations.

Requirement

  • NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in petrochemical, refinery, or chemical manufacturing operations

  • Sound understanding of process operations, safety procedures, and emergency response.

  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

  • Physically fit and able to work in an outdoor, rotating‑shift environment.

  • Must be willing to work on Jurong Island (company transport provided).
