Job summary

A leading financial institution in Singapore is seeking an experienced IT Architect to define the architecture roadmap and oversee system architecture initiatives. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in enterprise systems design within the banking sector, particularly in private banking or wealth management. Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and expertise in modern web technologies is essential. This role offers a chance to lead and mentor teams, shaping the future architecture strategies of the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in design and implementation of enterprise systems in banking domain, preferably private banking / wealth management.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachmann.
• Very good knowledge and experience in modern web technologies.

Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

General

• Define IT APAC’s architecture roadmap and landscape in line with the business strategy of the bank
• Lead the system architecture areas in the initiatives by providing architecture runways, solution blueprints,

architecture NFRs & trade-offs

• Support the architecture governance to manage architecture debts, architecture standards and guidelines
• Manage and drive proof of concepts on new technologies and tools that may be required for supporting the business initiatives

Client

Management (internal & external)

• Participate and contribute to IT Architecture strategy of the bank by working together within the architecture COE
• Provide technical guidance to project teams along the entire software development lifecycle

Regulatory

Responsibilities & / OR Risk Management

• Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Personal and Social

• Able to handle verbal and written communication where the main language used for internal and external communication is English
• Able to explain designs and solutions to developers and business users alike
• Strong leadership skills in matrix organizational setup, ability to lead, mentor and coach team members and developers
• Passionate and efficient self-learner in order to adopt new technologies and methodologies to create business value

Professional and Technical

• Bachelor / Master degree in Engineering or Computer science
• 10+ years of experience in design and implementation of enterprise systems in banking domain, preferably private banking / wealth management
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachmann
• Strong collaboration skills across hierarchy levels and organizational boundaries
• Very good knowledge and experience in modern web technologies
• Domain Knowledge on Financial / Capital Markets is a plus
• Domain Knowledge on Credit Life Cycle Mgmt. (Client Assessment, Collateral Assessment, Credit Offering, Credit Monitoring etc) is a must
• Domain knowledge on Finance & exposure to SAP portfolio’s is a plus
• Knowledge on Data Policy and Standards: Establishing data policies and standards to align with business objectives and technological capabilities is good to have
• Experience in implementing cloud native applications
• Experience in implementing DevOps principles in the organisation
• Proficiency in enterprise technologies such as Java EE, spring boot, databases like Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL, integration technologies like IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus, event streaming platform like Apache Kafka
• Experience in implementing Machine Learning based solutions is good to have
