What the job entails

As a Power Trader, your primary responsibility will be to optimize Danske Commodities’ portfolio, including wind, solar, and consumption assets. Specifically, your areas of responsibility will include:

  • Conducting, evaluating, and acting on market analysis
  • Developing trading strategies and tools based on quantitative setup, in collaboration with other teams
  • Participating in the team’s 24/7 trading shift scheme, handling European night hours from Singapore day shifts, together with three other colleagues based in Singapore
Meet the team

As our new trader, you will join Danske Commodities’ Intraday Power Trading team, which trades power 24/7. In addition to trading, we continuously analyze the market and seek new opportunities that can be integrated into our advanced algorithmic trading setup. You will be part of our Singapore power trading desk, which is connected to our headquarters team in Aarhus, Denmark. Our team consists of 20 trading professionals, covering both asset trading and proprietary trading.

We foster a culture of trust, openness, and transparency. We support each other and rely on teamwork to run a 24/7 trading operation. Our team is highly motivated, always striving for great results and looking for ways to improve.

But enough about us… over to you!

Working in a dynamic, short-term trading environment, you thrive on fast decision-making and can keep a cool head under pressure. You are able to analyze, act quickly, and reflect on your decisions—continuous improvement is key to our success.

We expect that you:

  • Have a proven track record in power trading or 1–2 years of financial trading experience
  • Alternatively, have recently graduated in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, and demonstrate exceptional academic credentials combined with outstanding curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Are interested in trading and bringing motivation to the team
  • Know the basics of coding in SQL, R, Python or similar is a plus, but not a strict requirement
