Job Title: Policy and Operations Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join the team under the Vice Provost (Masters’ Programmes and Lifelong Education) to assist on policies matters relating to Continuing Education and Training (CET) and Lifelong Education.

As both the number and quality of CET offerings increase, and as we explore ways to enhance stackability and interdisciplinary in CET, the need for clear guidelines, coordination, and policies become increasingly important.

The incumbent must apply critical thinking and exercise sound judgment. Strong writing skills – clarity, precision, and coherence – are critical. When necessary, respectfully challenge assumptions, decisions or practices to ensure accuracy and quality.

Policy
  • Research, draft new and refine existing Continuing Education and Training (CET) and Lifelong Education policies and guidelines. Research should include examination of relevant existing policies, benchmark practices at peer institutions, and consideration of implications etc.
  • Engage and consult relevant constituencies and other stakeholders (eg, legal) for information and to encourage buy-in.
  • Articulate clearly the issue the policy aims to address, and define the proposed solution precisely and present it concisely.
Programs
  • Provide support to programs (eg. DiscoverNUS and the NUS ASEAN Scholarship Program, Advance@NUS, NUS GRTII Scholarship Program).
  • Keep track of timelines for each academic year/semester, ensure timely communications with partner universities, colleagues and students.
  • Vet nominations and inform partner of the outcomes.
  • Coordinate application evaluation and release of outcomes.
  • Assist in students’ requests on financial aid and financial matters relating to scholarship.
  • Assist in housing matters and planning of events.
Qualifications
  • A good bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
  • At least 7 years of work experience, and at least 4 years of relevant experience in policy research or related work.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
