Job description

We are seeking a Platform Engineer (Contract) to join the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team within the Service Automation department, part of Group Infrastructure & Platform Services

This role focuses on building, operating, and improving large-scale, distributed, fault tolerant systems, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability, and availability. You will develop software and infrastructure solutions that eliminate manual work and accelerate service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate highly reliable, scalable, and performant systems.
• Develop user-facing web applications using TypeScript/Angular and Python/Django.
• Design and deliver automation solutions in partnership with Service Delivery stakeholders.
• Build APIs, dashboards, and data visualizations using modern frameworks.
• Identify automation failures, troubleshoot root causes, and reduce operational fallout.
• Develop software-oriented automation for infrastructure, systems, or networks.
• Continuously optimize code, workflows, and self-service automation capabilities.

Skills/Requirement Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

Essential

• 4+ years of full-stack web development using:
• Frontend: Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Backend: Python, Django/Django REST Framework
• Experience designing and implementing automation for systems or infrastructure.
• Strong hands‑on experience with REST APIs and relational databases (OracleDB, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency with version control and DevOps tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Artifactory).
• Strong debugging skills and a systematic approach to problem‑solving.
• Ability to understand existing business workflows and translate them into automated solutions.
