Job summary

A leading trading company in Singapore is seeking a Plastics Salesman - Leader/Supervisor to create new business and maintain customer relationships. The ideal candidate has 5 to 8 years of sales experience in commodity and engineering plastics, and strong technical knowledge of the industry. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and a yearly bonus among other benefits.

Our Client is a Japanese Trading company dealing with Plastic Resin and Raw Materials. They are currently looking for a Plastics Salesman -Leader/Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Market and take action aggressively and spontaneously to create new business
  • Maintain relationship with current customers to handle daily tasks efficiently
  • Control the trading material stock inventory
  • Attend to customer enquiry and provide sales services to customer
  • Prepare quotation and liaise with customer on pricing matter
  • Follow up with customer on payment issue
  • Source for suitable supplier for purchase of trading material
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure purchased products meet the customer requirement
  • Check purchase orders for trade term, payment term, price and lead time
  • Follow up with customer on any issues including customer complaints
  • Take proactive actions to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements
MUST
  • Minimum a Degree in any field
  • At least 5 to 8 years of relevant sales experience in commodity and engineering plastics
  • Strong understanding of plastic distribution business models
  • Solid technical knowledge and established network within the plastics industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Mandarin for effective business interaction with English and Mandarin stakeholders
  • Strong analytical ability and able to work independently
  • Willing to travel to Batam and Johor Bahru to support existing customers initially, and to other developing countries in line with future business expansion
ADVANTAGEOUS
  • Able to commence work within short notice
