Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Plant Engineer with a strong mechanical background and a passion for equipment performance, maintenance planning, and workshop operations. If you enjoy being on the ground, solving mechanical issues, and leading a workshop team — this role is for you.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will have the opportunity to oversee the plant and equipment operations at our yard, lead the repair and maintenance of machines, and drive continuous improvement in processes. You will also be involved in planning preventive maintenance programs, optimising spare part usage, and inspecting the quality of repairs and fabrications. This role requires strong decision-making, communication, and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and support project operations across the company.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate strong technical ability, a hands-on approach, and have prompt, open and direct communication with mechanics and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate is resourceful, cost-conscious, accountable, and always looking for ways to improve uptime and equipment performance.
