A leading operations firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional in demand and supply planning. The role involves overseeing the value chain, analyzing demand trends, and ensuring effective inventory management. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain, and at least 3 years of industry experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in MRP/ERP systems, and command of MS Excel are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
Provides overall leadership to demand and supply planning. Oversees the entire value chain from demand to supply, encompassing commercial demand analysis, master production schedule monitoring, as well as material supply planning and forecasting, driving supply against demand.
Analyze monthly sales and forecast numbers, monitor demand changes and forecast accuracy, propose a mitigation plan against demand changes, and highlight changes that are beyond mitigation.
Ensure planning tools and frameworks are in place.
Coordinate with Global Product Management for NPI products or product changes, to ensure bundle ratios are properly setup for forecasting needs.
Work closely with Regional Demand Planners to incorporate local knowledge to improve forecasting ratios and models.
Actively participates in the S&OP process to align stakeholders, including sales, finance, production, and supply chain.
Support management in risk assessment and modeling strategies against the demand trend.
Convert forecasts into supply needs.
Actively monitor supply status against demand needs, either manufactured or purchased, to meet commercial and non-commercial demand.
Chair monthly Regional Supply Plan Meeting, liaise closely with Regional Planners, and influence internal stakeholders to meet demand needs.
Main driver of timeline completion against the Master Production Schedule, actively engaging and aligning various stakeholders, including Manufacturing, Quality, Product Transfer, Logistics, Warehousing, and Procurement, to keep the schedule on track.
Monitor and propose changes to the planned Master Production Schedule where necessary, against demand changes by analyzing sales and forecasting data.
Own the Master Supply Schedule, establish top-level entries for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) execution, and purchase
Provide a 12-month supply outlook for material forecasting and cash flow planning
Responsible for the management of schedules and availability of materials, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
Timely execution of MPS. Communicates delays and/or changes to the schedules with upstream and downstream stakeholders.
Agile and dynamic in responding to demand changes, altering schedules to meet unforeseen conditions with minimal disruption to manufacturing processes.
Establish top-level schedule for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) execution and provide rolling 3-month supply outlook.
Release of work orders to the manufacturing floor.
Establish, maintain, and promote collaborative relationships and a positive environment with various stakeholders; passionate about meeting or exceeding customer requirements.
Accountable for inventory turn and value metrics, recommend suitable stocking level and strategies according to product type.
Monitor aging inventory and manage end-of-life materials/products in order to reduce potential scrap cost.
Monitor and oversee cycle counts on a proactive basis to maintain accurate inventory records
Responds to commercial and non-commercial inventory requests.
Participate and collaborate with Quality in the root cause analysis activity on non-conforming incident/excursion. Recommend corrective and preventive action. Initiate and ensure the timely execution of corrective actions on inventory affected.
Propose and execute improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors within the planning team, in compliance with quality and regulatory guidelines
Participate and provide recommendations to improve initiatives within the Operations team, and to the overall S&OP process.
Maintain and manage planning parameters for MRP execution.
Performs tasks as assigned.
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain, or with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to analyze complex data and connect end-to-end supply chain processes.
Highly independent and possesses strong decision-making skills, providing direction to the planning team, in line with the greater S&OP directives.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Rigorous and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge in the functionality of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems. SAP system experience preferred.
Excellent command of MS Excel
