Job Purpose:
To maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the Senior Care Centre and assist in food preparation and pantry-related duties. The role supports the overall well-being and comfort of seniors by ensuring a clean environment and helping to provide nutritious meals in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pantry Support
- Assist in preparing and serving meals, beverages, and snacks to seniors.
- Warm up meals and portion food according to dietary requirements and hygiene standards.
- Ensure the pantry area and kitchen equipment are clean, sanitised, and well-maintained.
- Monitor stock levels of pantry items and assist in replenishment or purchasing when needed.
- Dispose of food waste responsibly and according to NEA hygiene regulations.
2. Housekeeping & Cleanliness
- Perform general cleaning of all areas within the centre, including activity rooms, rest areas, and offices.
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and maintain a hygienic environment in compliance with infection control guidelines.
- Wash and dry towels, linens, and cleaning cloths as required.
- Support setup and cleanup before and after daily activities or special events.
- Ensure proper disposal of clinical and general waste, following the centre’s ECC waste management procedures.
3. Centre Support
- Assist staff in moving equipment or supplies when needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of storerooms and utility areas.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues to the Centre Manager.
4. Hygiene & Safety Compliance
- Follow food hygiene and workplace safety (WSH) guidelines.
- Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Participate in regular training or briefings on hygiene and safety practices.
5. Other Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager or Management to support daily operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Primary or Secondary School education.
- Prior experience in pantry, housekeeping, or cleaning duties preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and cleaning protocols.
- Physically fit, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Friendly and respectful when interacting with seniors and staff.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to centre procedures and safety practices.
