Job description
Instructors for Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Learning for Life Programme (LLP)

Ministry of Sports is looking for instructors for SEL and LLP for school students.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Confidently conduct adventure (camp or otherwise) activities and facilitate students’ reflection and learning.
  • Provide safety instructions on technical equipment for adventure activities.
  • Carry out safety protocols to ensure participants’ safety.
  • Undertake all admin or logistics tasks necessary for the correct execution of any adventure activities.
  • Plan, evaluate and assess the adventure activities, determining whether learning goals are being achieved.
  • Execute and supervise land (including those at great heights) and water activities.
Requirements
  • Love outdoor adventure programs, camps, or activities.
  • Fit with no medical conditions that prevent execution of responsibilities.
  • Ability to connect and engage with students.
  • Ability to handle stress.
  • Must be able to execute, take charge, and supervise land (including great heights) and water activities.
  • Experience and certificates or courses for conducting outdoor activities.
Additional Competencies
  • Draw out SEL competencies in participants: Self-Management, Relationships (peers, teachers, parents/guardians), Responsible Decision Making.
  • Empower participants to improve resilience and cooperate with others towards common objectives.
  • Create an environment enhancing participants’ learning towards the school’s Learning for Life Programme values, developing social‑emotional competencies, self‑efficacies, leadership, and competencies such as:
    • Preparing participants for future roles in society.
    • Countering bad influences in society.
    • Moral values: honesty, hard work, respect for others, cooperation, compassion, forgiveness.
Qualifications
  • Possess respective qualifications in international, regional or local associations of your sport.
  • NROC qualification is very advantageous.
  • Other certifications or qualifications are advantageous.
