Job Description
- To attend promptly to ad-hoc breakdown and maintenance of systems at the operation centre and remote sites, including proactive coordination and supervision of system contractors during the troubleshooting and repair works, to be performed in accordance with maintenance support plans and procedures. Systems maintenance work may require personnel to stay overnight (up to 4 consecutive nights at one stretch) at remote sites due to considerations such as operational urgency, system time, ingress and/or egress travelling time and work schedule.
- To perform Duty Technical Officer (DTO’s role at each of the two Centres namely, a new site or any other site, operation centre, in accordance with the assigned shutdowns).
- To check maintenance checklists and service reports of systems.
- To assist in the management of maintenance contracts (MC) and term contracts (TO’s) for maintenance works, which includes technical specifications for MCs and TO’s, planning and scheduling of preventing maintenance activities, monitoring of maintenance expenditures.
- To accompany and/or represent an attending site meetings, conducting site surveys, and carrying out spot-checks on maintenance works.
- To coordinate with internal departments and divisions and external organizations for maintenance work arrangements, including schedule deconfliction if needed.
- To assist in the procurement of spare parts, test equipment and tools for maintenance works, which includes obtaining quotations from suppliers for works / services and arrange for contractors to carry out such works and/or services.
- To maintain an updated record of systems, which includes system failure data, documentations, etc.
- To keep track of system performances such as system availability and monitor trending of system outages.
Other Responsibilities and Tasks
- To assist in system engineering works, which involve feasibility study, proof-of-concept, system design, life-cycle analysis, and design review.
- To assist in project management and coordination works.
- To assist in carrying out site supervision of projects, site installation works, testing and commissioning of the various systems/equipment.
- To assist in the study of upgrading or replacements of systems.
- To support in attending to ad-hoc requests from users for installations, relocations, re-wiring, and modifications of port systems and equipment.
- To be on standby for urgent jobs on a 24-hour round-the-clock basis, including weekends and public holidays, based on operational need for high system availability, and to respond within two hours at site if activated.
- To perform any other duties delegated by when required, in compliance with the Employment Act.
- To assist in keeping track and maintaining the documentation of Systems compliance requirements (e.g., Cybersecurity Code of Practice, system availability, etc).
Requirements
- Candidates should possess experience in supporting Electrical/Electronic Engineering-related systems.
- Candidates with knowledge and experience in marine electronics, command and control systems, communication systems, and the deployment, servicing, and troubleshooting of networked Electronics, Communications, and Power systems will have an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment to meet collective goals.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Work Hours: Regular 8:30 - 6PM or Shifting
