Operations Manager (Car Sales)

BYD by 1826 is Singapore’s leading automotive‑lifestyle dealership, operating multiple EV showroom restaurants with rapid expansion across the island. We are seeking an Operations Manager to ensure smooth showroom and test‑drive fleet operations while supporting a premium customer experience.

Role Overview

You will manage all operational functions supporting the car sales division — including showroom readiness, display vehicle management, test‑drive fleet operations, logistics, SOP compliance, and event support.

Key Responsibilities

Showroom Operations

• Ensure daily showroom readiness (cleanliness, ambience, equipment, display cars).
• Supervise car cleaners and test‑drive valet drivers.
• Support operational planning for new showroom openings.

Display & Test‑Drive Vehicle Management

• Oversee grooming, maintenance, and presentation of all display and test‑drive cars.
• Track mileage, condition, and readiness (battery SOC, cleanliness, tyre pressure).
• Manage servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

Vehicle Refresh & Utilisation

• Maintain a regular refresh schedule for display/test‑drive units.
• Track utilisation rates and adjust fleet allocation based on demand.
• Request replacement or additional units when required.

Vehicle Logistics

• Plan and track vehicle movements between showrooms, warehouse, workshop, and events.
• Manage internal drivers and external logistics vendors.
• Maintain accurate movement logs and optimise transport costs.

Events & Roadshows

• Prepare vehicles for events (charging, cleaning, logistics).
• Support safe setup and on‑site event operations when needed.

SOP, Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure correct completion of test‑drive agreements, indemnity forms, and licence checks.
• Enforce SOPs for handling, charging, and operational standards.
• Conduct periodic audits and implement corrective actions.

Reporting & Planning

• Produce weekly/monthly reports on fleet readiness, utilisation, downtime, and key operations metrics.
• Support planning for future showroom expansion and resource needs.

People & Vendor Management

• Lead test‑drive valet drivers and car cleaners.
• Train staff on EV handling and operational SOPs.
• Manage vendor performance and relationships.

Requirements

• Experience in automotive operations, logistics, or retail showroom operations preferred.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills; hands‑on and proactive.
• Valid Class 3/3A licence required.
• Able to support weekend/PH events when necessary.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
