Company / Role Overview

This role sits within the regional production security function of a large, globally established financial services organization operating across Asia Pacific. The team is responsible for safeguarding critical production environments by designing, implementing, and operating enterprise‑grade cybersecurity controls. The Network Security Consultant Engineer will focus on securing network infrastructure and applications, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and strategic security initiatives in a highly regulated, fast‑paced environment, while collaborating closely with regional and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute network security operations to ensure governance standards, controls, and procedures are consistently applied across production environments.
  • Design, validate, implement, and document end‑to‑end network security workflows covering firewall management, segmentation, and zero‑trust architectures.
  • Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting support for internal stakeholders on firewall rules, network access, and security incidents.
  • Deliver security components for regional and global projects, ensuring alignment with production security scope and timelines.
  • Implement and maintain network segmentation and zero‑trust solutions, including micro‑segmentation policies for enhanced threat containment.
  • Manage firewall configurations, rule changes, upgrades, and migrations, and support incident response activities when security events occur.
  • Monitor and respond to web‑based security threats, including zero‑day vulnerabilities, policy updates, and risk assessments for business applications.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for advanced technical support, solution enhancements, and new security implementations.
Job Requirements
Must‑have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in IT security, with strong specialization in network security.
  • Solid understanding of network security fundamentals, zero‑trust principles, and micro‑segmentation concepts applied in real‑world environments.
  • Proven experience configuring and analyzing firewall rules, including enterprise‑grade firewall management platforms.
  • Hands‑on exposure to web application security operations, including policy enforcement, signature updates, and incident analysis.
  • Experience supporting production environments, managing security incidents, and collaborating with cross‑functional operational teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice‑to‑have:
  • Experience with micro‑segmentation platforms and label‑based policy implementations.
  • Exposure to enterprise WAF and load‑balancing technologies.
  • Scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python or similar) to support automation and reporting initiatives.
  • Relevant industry certifications in firewall technologies, network access control, web application security, or cybersecurity domains.
  • Willingness to provide after‑hours support for critical production security incidents when required.
