Job description

We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our multi-vendor core and access network infrastructure. You will be responsible for end-to-end connectivity, from high-level routing (BGP/MPLS) to the physical optical layer (DWDM/GPON), ensuring high availability through advanced protocol tuning and hardware optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching across a multi-vendor environment.
• Design and optimise complex architectures using BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS.
• Manage firewalls and deploy enterprise wireless solutions.
• Maintain the optical layer using DWDM/OTN and GPON/FTTH technologies.
• Tune monitoring tools to track bandwidth trends and performance.
• Create and maintain Network Diagrams and detailed technical SOPs.
• Act as the Tier-2/3 escalation point for troubleshooting, performing deep packet analysis and root cause investigation.
• Lead infrastructure projects from design to handover and manage carrier/vendor relationships (RMA, circuit delivery).
• Implementation of turn-key projects

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, or IT with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Network Engineering role, specifically within an ISP or Service Provider environment is preferred.
• Proven experience with BGP, MPLS, and VRRP.
• Hands-on experience with Fibre Optics (splicing standards, dB loss, and light levels) is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of Juniper and Cisco is required.
• Experience with Fortinet, MikroTik, FiberHome, Packetlight, Ubiquity, Huawei is preferred.
• Proficient in using protocol analysers and network graphing tools.
