A joint venture company between Rolls-Royce Plc and SIA Engineering Company. The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. The Engine Overhaul business has the capacity to repair and overhaul over 300 Trent engines per year and it is equipped with a state-of-the-art Engine Test Facility that supports our best-in-class engine turnaround times

Job Responsibilities

• Advanced knowledge and ability to draft, review and negotiate in various legal contracts across areas of procurement matters, constructions, real estate, NDAs, regulatory compliance, financing arrangement, R&D collaboration agreements with third parties.
• Knowledge in IP laws and IP management and governance, IT contracts, employment laws, ABC and export control laws.
• Ability to align team efforts to the corporate strategy, and ensure (cross functional) team buy-in.
• Advanced understanding of and ability to identify/ navigate considerations important to internal stakeholders
• Escalates to Legal leadership where appropriate.
• Ability to operate in various types of management environments, with or without well-defined KPI. Has the ability to articulate team departmental performance in any scenario.
• Intermediate / Advanced cost and change management skills.
• Intermediate / Advanced project management skills.
• Effective management of law firms and service providers to extract optimal value.
• Strong rapport with colleagues, can influence legal department leadership and other stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills – presentations, negotiation, influencing and advocacy. Ability to solicit and assess diverse viewpoints before taking a view on a legal issue and influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Role model for Code of Conduct and personal ethics

Qualification / Experience

• The role requires a lawyer with over 10 years’ post-qualification legal experience, and
• Hold a law degree from Singapore or UK
