Lead brand storytelling, member engagement, and integrated communications for a premier Club
Our client is a reputable and well-established company in the recreation industry with good workplace culture. They are seeking an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to lead the development and execution of high-impact marketing and communications initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this role plays a critical part in strengthening brand positioning, deepening member engagement, and supporting business objectives across the Club.
This is a senior, hands‑on role suited for a strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic, membership‑driven environment and enjoys leading campaigns across digital, print, and experiential platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Communications Strategy
- Support the Director of Marketing & Communications in developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies that align with the Club’s objectives.
- Lead end‑to‑end planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns, promotions, and initiatives to drive brand visibility, engagement, and revenue.
- Provide strategic communications support to internal departments and committees to advance their objectives.
- Identify and manage sponsorship and advertising opportunities to enhance partnerships and generate incremental revenue.
Content & Media Relations
- Oversee the development communication materials including media releases, speeches, internal communications, PR materials, and corporate messaging.
- Ensure consistent brand voice and alignment with governance, policy, and strategic direction.
- Build and maintain strong media relationships, proactively pitching stories and managing media enquiries and issues when required.
Publications & Brand Governance
- Lead the editorial planning, production, and delivery of the Club’s flagship publications, ensuring content relevance, quality, and member appeal.
- Enforce brand standards across all channels including digital platforms, publications, signage, presentations, and proposals.
- Maintain a centralised brand and content asset library for internal use.
Events & Member Engagement
- Oversee content accuracy and effectiveness across all digital platforms including the Club’s website, social platforms, and mobile app.
- Develop communication strategies to promote events, activities, and initiatives effectively to members.
- Lead the planning, organisation, and coordination of Club events, tournaments, and member initiatives to ensure strong participation and satisfaction.
Digital & CSR Communications
- Oversee content accuracy and effectiveness across all digital platforms including the Club’s website, social platforms, and mobile app.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to enhance digital touchpoints and improve member adoption.
- Develop and deliver CSR and sustainability communications that reinforce the Club’s community values and social impact.
- Support additional strategic initiatives and ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Communications.
Requirements
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in marketing communications, with 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven background in integrated marketing, media relations, publications, and event communications—experience in hospitality, lifestyle, or membership‑based organisations preferred.
- Strong people leadership skills with experience coaching and managing teams.
- Excellent project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, website CMS, and social media platforms.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills with a strong eye for detail.
- Highly effective stakeholder manager, able to collaborate across departments, committees, and external partners.
