Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Marine HR Executive for one of our shipping clients. This role will manage the crewing function for the company’s fleet, ensuring timely crew deployment, compliance with international maritime labor standards, and strong support for seafarer welfare. The position involves close coordination with crewing partners, ship managers, and internal stakeholders to maintain efficient manning levels and drive retention. Open to fresh graduates or candidates with at least 1 year of maritime HR experience and solid knowledge of MLC requirements and crew management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold safety and environmental protection as core values in all tasks.
- Prepare monthly, weekly, and quarterly reports as well as meeting agendas for the team.
- Support the preparation of TMSA audits.
- Compile and analyze data and prepare presentation materials for Quarterly Management Reviews (QMR) and quarterly alerts.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by the Line Manager.
Marine HR Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Marine HR team across all functions.
- Coordinate interview scheduling and liaise with departments on candidate selection; arrange office briefings (virtual and physical) for vessel officers, including logistics and accommodation.
- Administer and track the distribution of anniversary awards and priority passes.
- Maintain records and follow up on Crew P&I claims, seafarer medical cases, and shore-based health insurance matters.
- Assist the Marine HR Director with projects, initiatives, and ad-hoc assignments.
- Act as backup support for the Marine Personnel Officer in Singapore when required.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Business, Maritime Studies, or equivalent administrative experience.
- Customer-focused with the ability to respond effectively and positively to queries.
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail and urgency in task execution.
- Self-motivated, able to handle multiple tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Familiarity with COMPAS software is an advantage.
- Understanding of maritime regulations such as MLC, STCW, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
