Job description

This role will be a key member of the AWX Finance team. As the FP&A Senior Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the financial planning and analysis function across AWX globally. You will play a critical role in providing strategic financial insights, analyzing business performance, and driving decision‑making processes. You will also be involved in designing and making Day‑2 implementation of the management reporting system at AWX. Reporting to the FP&A Associate Director, you will work closely with senior management and various stakeholders across Finance as well as the Business to ensure accurate financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the overall financial planning and analysis strategy, aligned with the company’s objectives and financial goals.
  • Lead quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency to achieve Airwallex’s short & long‑term goals
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze financial data, provide insights and report on areas of concern to senior management to support overall business planning and decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to conduct in‑depth financial analysis to evaluate profitability, cost management, and revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted business partner and advisor to senior management, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Lead the design and Phase 2 implementation of AWX management reporting system
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional finance teams on department‑wide projects and identify process improvements opportunities across Finance
  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration and continuous improvement within FP&A function. Mentor junior resources, provide guidance, feedback and development opportunities
What you bring:
  • 8+ years of financial planning and analysis experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA or equivalent advanced finance qualification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis techniques, budgeting, forecasting, cost allocations, accounting principles and financial modeling
  • Strong understanding of financial services and fintech businesses
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools, financial software and management reporting systems.
  • Experience with finance transformations projects including design and implementation of reporting systems is a plus
  • Strong communicator and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Confident, creative and innovative thought leadership and communication skills to deliver impact in a hyper‑growth environment
  • Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
