Job description
The Position

The Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), ASKAN is a key leadership role within the Global Facilities and Engineering (GFE) organization, which is built on four core pillars: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Security & Crisis Management, Real Estate & Facility Management (REFM), and Engineering.

This role is responsible for safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of employees, ensuring environmental compliance, and protecting company assets across all ASKAN facilities. Acting as the regional focal point for EHS, the incumbent drives global programs at the local level, ensuring strong alignment with corporate directives and compliance with country-specific regulations.

The position reports directly to the Head of GFE, ASKAN and has a functional reporting line to the Head of EHS, Commercial Sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Contact person at the country and responsible for administration areas in matters concerning environmental, health and safety (EHS) issues
  • Overall accountability for ASKAN ISO45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management System), including certification, maintenance, surveillance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support Global Head of EHS in ensuring that the EHS Management System and programs are established, documented, implemented, maintained and continually improved
  • Collaboration in developing and implementing global policies, principles, strategies, procedures and guidelines in the field of EHS, as well as coordination of roll-out of EHS related issues (e.g., EHS global initiatives, procedures, policies etc.)
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Company safety & environmental guidelines and Legal legislation at ASKAN ROPU Level
  • Lead BE Safe, BE Healthy & MORE Green initiatives within ROPU ASKAN
  • Ensuring that 3rd party audits are carried out on relevant suppliers and vendors, as well as internal inspections.
  • Support, coordinate and ensure the establishment, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Field Force Safety program.
  • Support, coordinate and ensure the execution of risk assessments across EHS processes with active CAPA management.
  • Support, coordinate and ensure the management of permits for associated activities that require them.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline in EHS and sustainability.
  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in EHS is required where the candidate can demonstrate direct management of EHS and Sustainability.
  • Recognized professional certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, CIH, Singapore Ministry of Manpower Registered Safety Officer, Singapore Civil Defence Registered Fire Safety Manager) is an advantage
  • Ability to drive EHS culture and influence senior management and employees.
  • Align global strategies with local execution, balancing compliance and business needs.
  • Strong grasp of EHS regulations, ISO standards, and corporate frameworks.
  • Skilled in Hazard identification, mitigation planning, and CAPA execution.
  • Clear, persuasive, and culturally sensitive communication across diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate with global stakeholders across multiple time zones, including participation in regular evening or night calls as required to support global EHS governance, programs, and incident management.
  • Proactive in identifying gaps and implementing sustainable solutions.
