As part of the data services team, you will play a crucial role in enabling data‑driven initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting research and educational excellence. You will collaborate with stakeholders across schools, departments and colleagues (SDC) to drive innovative solutions and contribute to NTU's vision and mission.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Generative AI solutions tailored to meet business needs. This includes collating business use cases, conducting maturity assessments, and developing proof‑of‑concept and minimum viable products.
  • Design and develop Data Hubs for NTU units to ensure timely and accurate data provision. This involves:
Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures.
Implementing ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security through robust data governance practices.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Manage Data Hub and Generative AI projects, providing regular status updates to management, and serving as a critical resource for issue resolution.
  • Coordinate data and AI literacy workshops to enhance understanding and application of data and AI technologies among CITS members and SDC.
  • Serve as a domain subject matter expert (SME):
Act as a trusted advisor to users and stakeholders, assisting them in identifying, developing, and refining business and technical use cases for data and AI initiatives.
Facilitate workshops and consultations to help users articulate requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
Provide balanced, evidence‑based advice on the pros and cons of different technologies, architectures, and methodologies, considering scalability, maintainability, cost, compliance, and alignment with NTU’s strategic objectives.
Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure recommendations are relevant and up‑to‑date.
Document and share lessons learned, case studies, and decision rationales to support organizational learning and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in data management, project management and programming.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data engineering, analytics, and AI, with a strong track record of applying this knowledge to real‑world use cases.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders to identify pain points, draft and refine use cases, and assess feasibility for AI/data solutions.
  • Proven capability to provide balanced, evidence‑based advice on the pros and cons of different technologies, architectures, and methodologies, considering factors such as scalability, maintainability, cost, compliance, and alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience facilitating workshops, consultations, and collaborative sessions to help users articulate requirements and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Effective project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Good‑to‑Have
  • Experience with data governance practices, data quality management, and data security measures.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of data technologies like Snowflake, Dataiku, and Denodo.

If you are passionate about data engineering and Gen‑AI development and want to contribute to NTU's mission, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
