Job description

Key responsibilities

Operational Management:

• Lead and oversee the daily activities of the shipyard to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Coordinate and manage the workforce, including supervisors and team leads.
• Schedule workload and monitor performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like on-time delivery and labor efficiency.

Project Management:

• Manage entire shipbuilding or repair projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to scope.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with various departments, including production, engineering, and commercial teams.
• Manage and communicate with external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and classification societies.

Safety and Quality:

• Implement and enforce company safety regulations and quality control standards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations through inspections and adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system and ensure all work meets the required standards.

Financial and Resource Management:

• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and resources to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Procure and manage inventory for necessary materials, parts, and equipment.

Leadership and Communication:

• Provide leadership, coordination, and coaching to the team.
• Act as the central point of contact for project-related inquiries, issues, and communication.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
