Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP design development and coordination meetings.
• Review and coordinate design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Perform and implement value engineering proposals on the design.
• Control and guide all MEP subordinates, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Handle all submittals including shop drawings, material & systems, method statements.
• Interface management with the client and consultant representatives, local authorities, and interface contractors.
• Monitor the site progress and lead the construction team to ensure proper implementation on site in compliance with project schedule, quality standards, codes and local regulations.
• Identifying bottlenecks, resolving technical problems in design and construction.
• Resolve all correspondences related to the MEP discipline.
• Resolve the Engineer’s Instructions issued by the client and related variations.
• To coordinate between MEP disciplines and all other project disciplines.
• Guide the QA/QC MEP team for proper installations & material inspections.
• Handle testing, commissioning, start up and handing over to the client.
• Implementing Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
• Perform and implement value engineering proposals on the design.
• Develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements
• To ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
• Allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
• Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations if necessary
• Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency
• Obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers if necessary
• Conduct M&E coordination meeting & site walk with subcontractors, consultants and client.
• Plan and ensure works in accord with Master Programme and micro-schedule

Requirements

• Recognized degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field
• Min 7 years of M&E experience in building construction in Singapore
