Job summary

A leading organization in legal services is seeking a Legal Counsel based in Singapore. The candidate will provide legal advice to support business activities, manage contracts, and engage in M&A endeavors. Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide legal advice and services in support of business activities and development of organizational policies, procedures and programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters and legal implications of all matters.
• Manage all legal contracts within the Group.
• Drafting and reviewing business contracts and agreements, to ensure legal compliance and provide advice and necessary recommendation in managing legal and commercial exposures.
• Involve in M&A activities, including deal structuring with regards to the legal aspect, legal due diligence, drafting of terms sheets and agreements, tax and other relevant compliance activities.
• Liaise with external professionals when necessary.
• Strengthen business support and effectiveness around legal process, identify areas and work on process improvement on ongoing basis.
• Contribute to the development of internal guidelines, including development of standard or template contracts.

REQUIREMENTS

• Law degree either local or overseas.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience either with a recognized law firm or as an in-house legal counsel.
• Knowledge of Singapore, US and international law is preferred.
• Demonstrated collaborative, negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Strong business acumen to understand business goals and strategies.
• Strong experience in corporate governance work in multiple jurisdictions and complex corporate structures.
• Exceptional legal analysis and writing skills.
