Job description

Lead the Charge. Define the Future.

This Hybrid Remote working but MUST commit day travel to India

Our client is architecting the backbone of the global electric transport revolution. Seeking a visionary, hands-on Power Electronics Architect to take full ownership of the engineering and productization of our next-generation, medium-voltage (MV), megawatt-scale, containerized converter solutions in India.

This is the ultimate technical leadership role, offering global exposure and strategic authority.

If you live to master power conversion, thrive on solving high-voltage complexity, and are ready to put your stamp on sustainable energy infrastructure worldwide, this is your mission.

Responsibilities

You will be the driving force ensuring our game-changing EV charging solutions are flawlessly engineered, ruggedly reliable, and legally certified for every market on Earth.

Pioneer Product Launch: Drive the MW-scale system from a validated prototype into a fully industrialized, globally certified commercial product.

Ultimate Technical Gatekeeper: Design, engineer, and release the complete technical documentation package that serves as the foundation for global product certification and regulatory compliance.

Deliver Excellence: Achieve on-time completion of all mandated type tests and support certification for deployment in diverse, complex global markets.

As the Executive Lead, you won't just supervise—you'll govern the technical destiny of the product:

System Architecture Mastery: Architect the complete electrical and mechanical system for containerized megawatt-scale EV charging, translating complex requirements into robust engineering designs.

The Power Chain: Select and validate every critical power electronics component with irrefutable engineering justification, deep reliability analysis, and meticulous derating evaluation.

Grid Guardian: Design, model, and validate the sophisticated grid interfaces, including high-speed MV/LV protection schemes, advanced safety interlocks, and "bulletproof" fault-response behaviors to meet the strictest global grid codes.

Hardware and Software Harmony: Ensure seamless, high-integrity integration of control logic, protection systems, hardware, and monitoring under all operational and fault conditions.

Functional Safety Leadership: Personally oversee the creation of all mandatory compliance documentation, including leading FMEA/FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) and managing the product through the entire Product Lifecycle (PLM).

Thermal Excellence: Engineer and validate state-of-the-art thermal management and cooling systems designed for demanding, large-scale, air-cooled, containerized environments.

Global Champion: Support deployment and adapt technical designs to navigate the unique country-specific requirements and certification standards of every new market.

Requirement for this role

Master’s or PhD (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a specialized technical field.

Significant international experience in medium/high-voltage power electronics for EV charging, grid integration, or large-scale industrial solutions.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, rigorous documentation, and decisive leadership skills in fast-paced, multicultural environments.

We require a deep, demonstrable mastery that goes beyond theoretical knowledge:

High-Power Domain: Proven, hands-on expertise with high-power converters, drives, and MW-scale platforms (250 kW to multi-MW).

In-depth knowledge of MV protection relays, arc-flash analysis, HVIL, and DC arc-fault detection for industrial-grade safety.

Strong command over AC/DC and DC/DC converter topologies, sophisticated control strategies, transient response optimization, and advanced EMI/EMC mitigation.

You know how to transform a lab-validated prototype into a certified, volume-manufactured product ready for global deployment.

Expert familiarity with crucial international standards: IEC, CE, UL, and relevant high-power utility grid codes.

Proven ability to lead and execute detailed functional safety studies (FMEA, HAZOP) for complex electrical infrastructure.

Practical experience with SCADA/EMS integration and optimizing modular, containerized hardware design layouts.

Why Join Our Client

You are the ultimate authority in power electronics (high-power converters, drives, MW-scale systems).

You have a winning track record of end-to-end product development and global hardware certification.

You have been hands-on with MW-scale, high-voltage, and high-power platforms.

Your exposure to international compliance and certification (IEC, CE, UL, grid codes) is extensive.

You have held senior technical leadership titles (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering) in a power electronics technology organization.

Your technical pedigree is impeccable, and you thrive on mentoring teams and engaging high-level international partners.

You are excited by the prospect of being based in Europe (with flexibility for other regions).
