Job description

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• You will support new business initiatives and have responsibilities in the reviewing, drafting and negotiation of agreements and management of legal risks and be involved in the onboarding of new counterparties, such as clearers and brokers.
• You will review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts on behalf of various group companies in Asia Pacific.
• You will also provide professional and commercial advice to the Managing Director and local management on the day to day running of the business, including issues relating to intellectual property, information security, data management/ privacy etc.
• You will work alongside other control functions in Singapore to support and develop first and second line of defense risk management strategies and help develop and maintain standard agreements and checklist for the firm.
• You will also assist and support the Asia Pacific general counsel and legal teams to help enhance the legal function.
• You will help monitor and advise on relevant legislative and regulatory changes in Singapore and manage the externalization of legal services in Singapore via law firm engagement.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• A qualified lawyer with more than 10 years of experience in a top tier law firm or have worked in an in-house legal role. Candidates who have prior experience in an in-house legal role in the financial services sector would have an added advantage for this role.
• To succeed in this role, you will have the experience in overseeing a broad and wide range of financial, corporate, and commercial legal matters and collaborated with senior stakeholders both locally and offshore.
• You will have an interest towards using a combination of technology and legal approach to create solutions.
• You will possess excellent communication and have an interest in financial markets or trading.
