A leading food and R&D company in Singapore is seeking a qualified candidate for a technical role focused on product formulation and development. Job description

Responsibilities

• Solve product challenges with a clear definition of objectives, testing protocols and expectation of outcomes. Maintain accurate, complete records of experiments in reports, as well as samples of raw materials to inventory and other ad-hoc duties.
• Manage technical projects to explore, scope and develop new formulations and applications for use in either food, pharmaceutical, personal care/cosmetics, agricultural & technical industries.
• Build relevant formulation & application knowledge on the use of emulsifiers (eg. sucrose esters) in novel product formats and hands-on production of Formulations & Emulsions.
• Hands on spirit to source & procuring of raw materials and build up applications intelligence with various ingredients and additives.
• Manage general housekeeping that includes all equipment and maintenance & inventory to prevent stock up & minimise waste.
• Support all technical and quality process in the QA lab during the periodic production shifts & schedules opening to a wider scale of learnings that can include internship management and other ad-hoc activities.
• Familiar with laboratory set up and actively contribute novel ideas to the R&D efforts.

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements

• Minimum a diploma and/or degree from a Science background, preference from a chemistry background and some emulsions experience will be a big plus.
• Highly familiar with agricultural / food ingredients and experience in formulations of ingredients, additives, premixes and emulsions, can also apply. At least some experience in application related to flavor / color / bioactive ingredients.
• Strong in IT skills like Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access. Having web design /maintenance skills will be a big plus, however, not essential for the role.
• Will require interactions with internal and external facing and at least bilingual in spoken and written in English and Mandarin and/or another language and a strong drive and self-motivation and ability to learn in a fast pace working environment.
