Job description
Position Information
  • Position: Lab Chemist (Environmental‑Spectrophotometer)
  • Location: West (Near Gui Circle MRT)
  • Working hours: 5 days, Monday to Friday (8.30am to 6.00pm)
  • Salary: Up to $4200 + AWS + Variable Bonus + Medical + Transport allowance + Dental
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Industry: Environment Laboratory
Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee day to day laboratory incoming samples which includes logging the samples, filling the Chain of custody, checking sample details and test to be done, coordination with client and sections responsible for the analyses work
  • Conduct water/wastewater/soil analysis based on SOP and standard methods
  • Able to operate, maintain and calibrate the machines used for analysis like UV‑Vis Spectrophotometer, pH meter, Turbidity Meter, Distillation, Photometer, etc
  • Prepare worksheets, draft reports, maintenance records, inventory of chemicals, purchase order and documentations with reference to ISO 17025 requirements
  • Liaise with clients on reporting deadlines, sampling schedules and other concerns
  • Maintain up‑to‑date QA/QC procedures
  • Ensure high safety standards in the lab, and adhering to policies in place
  • May be required to collect samples at designated sites at local or overseas and on‑site testing of such samples
  • To ensure and uphold the integrity, accuracy and consistency of test procedures and standard reporting format within the Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme, SINGLAS of ISO 17025 schedules
  • To take corrective action against non‑compliant laboratory activities in the laboratory, with reference to ISO 17025
