Job description

Responsible for supporting the Aptive team in all statistical and data aspects of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) project work related to program and analytical support services, short term analyses, technical assistance, and support for its information and related programs to further the mission of SAMHSA to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness in different communities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in statistical analysis of complex data sets to support feasibility, pilot and evaluation studies, utilizing recognized methods and software.
  • Perform analyst functions including data collection, interviewing, data modeling, project testing and creation of performance measurements to support project objectives.
  • Develop appropriate methodologies to collect, analyze and present data reports, briefings and presentations.
  • Contribute to preparation of comprehensive written reports, presentations and charts based on research, collection and analysis of data.
  • Use various suites of tools to find patterns in data and clearly articulate the entire analysis.
  • Contribute to preparation of evaluation and analytical plans.
  • Provide technical assistance resources to promote increased fidelity in application of identified models.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, statistics, behavioral health, or a clinical degree and minimum 2 years of experience in program design, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in majority of the following areas:
  • • Designing and executing feasibility and pilot studies, including logistics, sampling, and participant engagement.
  • • Reporting feasibility and pilot studies with comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • • Developing and delivering technical assistance to ensure data quality.
  • • Identifying, developing and designing preliminary evaluation designs, instruments, data collection plans, data dictionaries, and data analysis plans.
  • • Developing a system for data collection tools including data validation and cleaning.
  • • SAMHSA experience desired.
  • • Experience with mental health and serious mental illness (SMI).
  • • Experience with individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use–related crisis.
  • • Experience with substance use disorders (SUD) including opioids.
  • • Experience with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance (SED).
  • • Experience with individuals with co‑occurring mental and substance disorders (COD).
