Job summary

A global marine fuel trading company in Singapore is seeking a Junior / Bunker Trader to join their fast-growing team. This role includes a comprehensive training program with mentorship, developing trading instincts, and building customer relationships in the marine fuels market. Our client provides worldwide marine fuel trading services and in view of rising business activities, they are now seeking a suitably qualified and ambition driven candidate to join their fast growing team as "Junior/ Bunker Trader".

Responsibilities
  • This is an action packed training programme with strong mentorship - where you will begin building your own customer base, developing trading instincts, learning operations execution and managing risk.
  • The programme will ensure you understand the full commercial, operational, regulatory and environmental ecosystem critical to success in bunker trading, including emerging trends in alternative fuels and decarbonisation strategies.
  • High performers will have the opportunity to rapidly transition into full Trader roles, managing customer portfolios independently.
  • Actively research, prospect, and develop new customer relationships in the marine fuels market.
  • Quote, negotiate and close bunker deals while ensuring commercial margins are protected.
  • Coordinate bunker deliveries in collaboration with operations teams, understanding vessel and port dynamics.
  • Monitor oil markets, shipping movements, and competitive landscapes to identify trading opportunities.
  • Assess and manage operational risks, credit exposures, and delivery execution risks.
  • Integrate low-carbon and alternative fuel solutions into customer proposals to support sustainability goals.
  • Maintain compliance with all trading regulations, ethical standards, and internal procedures.
  • Build and manage a personal sales pipeline while demonstrating commercial instincts and the ability to balance risk and reward in decision-making.
