General Summary :

This is a regional leadership position with experience in leading high level infrastructure engineering for an individual ready to influence the direction of IT at BDP International. This individual must have a strong background in networking methodologies with the ability to design, direct, and maintain BDP’s regional IT infrastructure team in alignment with business initiatives, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience and 5 years of leadership role in a multicultural environment.

Requirements

Critical :

• Maintain BDP’s global network security, performance and integrity, to include VoIP, Wireless, LAN / WAN and MPLS infrastructure.
• Responsible for contractual negotiations and vendor program participation.
• Manage existing vendors to ensure the accuracy of their performance and deliverables
• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to accurately assess the health and performance of BDP’s regional IT infrastructure.
• Ensures capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and making recommendation for improvements. Evaluates and recommends new products that falls in line with business initiatives
• Develop and deploy network policies, standards, strategies and direction for network system solutions using current and emerging technologies, Translates business requirements into network or process designs
• Act as a team or project lead, mentor and provide directions to other team members
• Design and implement network expansion and modification to meet the needs of the business growth, evaluate and approve all network additions and or changes.
• Deep understanding of all aspects of administering and maintaining corporate networking and systems infrastructure, including MPLS, VPN, network connectivity, Internet access, email, servers, etc.
• Strong proficiency with switching and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, route maps, Access Control Lists, route redistribution, path selection and traffic engineering
• Demonstrated proficiency with IPSEC VPN technology from multiple vendors, experience with Cisco ISRs and DMVPN a plus
• Demonstrated proficiency and experience designing, implementing and administering virtualized server environments using VMware
• Experience configuring and maintaining Layer 2 and layer 3 networking with .1q (VLANs), .1af / at (PoE), .1d (STP), BGP, OSPF, LACP

Need to be :

• Proficient with VMWare
• Proficient with backup and restore technologies, Veeam a plus
• Proficient with E-Mail systems, experience with Microsoft Exchange is mandatory. Experience maintaining a hybrid on-premise / O environment a plus
• Experience implementing and maintaining Firewalls. Palo Alto preferred
• Able to troubleshoot network issues from network connectivity, routing, and firewall issues, through DNS and higher level protocols
• Able to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to produce excellent documentation

Familiarity with :

• Active directory and group policies
• Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
• DNS and DHCP in a Windows environment
• Maintaining a global Active Directory including sites and services, domain replication, sites and services and group policy
• Administering and scripting in PowerShell
• Systems communication protocols such as NetBios, DNS, DHCP
• Wireless Access Points and wireless security protocols such as EAP with RADIUS

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Lead a team of Systems and Network engineers
• Coordinate with the Network, Systems groups as well as business stakeholders on high profile projects with executive leadership and business visibility
• Manage and administer an existing VMware server environment as well as proposing design improvements and making recommendations and implementations to achieve best practices
• Design, implement, and support network technologies to include HP, VMware, Palo Alto, Cisco and other hardware / software platforms.
• Configuration and administration SAN arrays and volumes (EMC and Pure)
• Assist with the support of branch office locations, their local networks, and their connectivity to the BDP global network
• Monitor and maintain all network / WAN connectivity to support branch office communications
• Collaborate with other network staff to find solutions to complex networking issues.
• Assist with design and structure of Active Directory
• Assist with design and structure of Microsoft Exchange
• Interact with internal clients to resolve issues; communicate with internal clients in a professional manner maintaining discretion.
• Provide support to Systems, Applications and Support teams when escalated
• Assist with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
