About This Role
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Services, you will assist in designing, implementing, and managing high-performance trading networks and datacentre infrastructure for the digital exchange. Your role involves supporting network configurations, overseeing installations, and maintaining and upgrading systems. Additionally, you will assist in providing innovative solutions to meet business challenges and comply with MAS TRM guidelines, while also supporting office networks, including WAN/LAN technologies, security, and wireless connectivity.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operations of the matching engine, post-trade systems and various system components operating in the Exchange trading systems.
- Manage the design, deployment and operations of the AWS cloud infrastructure, servers, networks, databases and microservices architecture and ensuring high resiliency and uptime of the systems for 24x7 trading operations.
- Administer and manage the Microsoft 365 platforms including Intune, office infrastructure systems, wireless networks and end user computing platforms ensuring a secure and seamless workplace experience.
- Package, deploy, and manage desktop and application software using Intune and related EUC tools.
- Build, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers (EC2 and EKS) to support trading and business applications.
- Use automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Rundeck, Terraform, and CloudFormation to standardize and streamline deployments.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and application teams to deliver resilient, high-performance, and secure infrastructure.
- Support and optimize infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms to ensure system reliability.
- Participate in incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis across systems, cloud and EUC layers.
- Assist with compliance and audit requirements, including alignment with MAS TRM guidelines and internal security policies.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) planning and testing.
- Continuously identify and adopt new technologies and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications And Experience
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).
Experience and Skill
- 2+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, system administration, or IT operations.
- Hands-on experience with Linux administration (RedHat, Rocky, or Ubuntu).
- Practical experience with automation and IaC tools (Ansible required; Terraform/CloudFormation desirable).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and end-user computing management.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange Online, and Teams administration.
- Exposure to AWS infrastructure services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls) sufficient for troubleshooting.
- Ability to document processes, configurations, and runbooks clearly.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Desirable to have:
- Exposure to FIX protocol, matching engines, or trading system concepts.
- Familiarity with MAS TRM guidelines, IT risk, or regulatory requirements in financial services.
