We are seeking a dynamic and solution-oriented IT Applications Specialist – Automation & Integrations to lead the implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise applications such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and Microsoft 365 Apps, tailored for school operations. This role plays a key part in driving process automation, system integration, and data-driven decision-making across administrative and operational domains.
The successful candidate will collaborate with various school departments, IT colleagues, and vendors to enhance workflows, improve digital adoption, and ensure seamless data flow between systems. The position requires both strategic understanding and hands‑on expertise in SQL scripting, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint sites), HTML‑based customization, and workflow design, ensuring technology solutions align with institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Systems Administration & Support
- Serve as the application lead for enterprise systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and Microsoft 365 Apps, managing configurations, permissions, and business process automation.
- Support application lifecycle management including implementation, upgrades, testing, and change control.
- Perform data imports, exports, and transformations using SQL scripting or API integrations.
- Troubleshoot system issues, elevate to vendors as required, and ensure SLA adherence.
Process Optimization & Workflow Automation
- Analyze administrative workflows and identify opportunities for digital transformation across departments (Admissions, Finance, HR, Operations, etc.).
- Design and implement Power Automate flows, Power Apps, and integrated workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Develop and maintain custom forms, dashboards, and workflow logic using Power Platform, HTML, and JSON where appropriate.
- Document and standardize operational processes to ensure consistency and scalability.
System Integration & Data Management
- Lead integration projects between key platforms (Salesforce ↔ PowerSchool, NetSuite ↔ Procurement systems, etc.) ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Collaborate with IT and data owners to establish data structures, mapping logic, and validation rules across systems.
- Manage and monitor API‑based data exchanges and ensure alignment with organizational data policies.
- Build and maintain SQL queries, reports, and data visualizations to support management insights.
Training, Change Management & User Adoption
- Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs for administrative staff.
- Create user guides, SOPs, and self‑help resources to support system usage and knowledge retention.
- Drive change management initiatives—ensuring stakeholder buy‑in, communication, and adoption of new tools and workflows.
- Monitor system usage metrics and conduct periodic evaluations to assess adoption and identify areas for improvement.
Project & Vendor Coordination
- Support technology projects by defining requirements, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely delivery of deliverables.
- Liaise with vendors and external service providers for implementations, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain documentation for project scopes, business requirements, and test scripts to support transparency and continuity.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Design and deploy operational dashboards and KPIs to support leadership decision‑making.
- Use Power BI, Excel Pivot, or SQL‑based reporting to deliver actionable insights from system data.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of institutional data across applications.
Technology Innovation & Advocacy
- Stay current on Microsoft, Salesforce, and NetSuite platform advancements.
- Evaluate and propose innovative tools or integrations that enhance administrative efficiency.
- Advocate for responsible, efficient, and secure use of technology within the school community.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Technology, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience supporting or implementing enterprise business systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Power Platform, or similar).
- Hands‑on proficiency with SQL scripting, Power Automate, Power Apps, HTML/CSS, and workflow design tools.
- Strong understanding of data structures, APIs, and integration methodologies.
- Experience working within K–12 or higher education or similar operational environments is advantageous.
- Excellent project coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong technical skills and understanding of Oracle/SQL databases, data management, and reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in creating (.Net, ASP.Net, VB Net and C# Programming/coding applications) APIs, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. This is essential and required to build integration and set‑up to ensure successful operations of multiple systems.
