Role Overview

Location: Singapore

Type: Full-time

As our HR Manager, you will be responsible for building and operating the core people processes that support a fast-moving startup environment. This is a hands-on role covering HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and people policies, while working closely with founders to scale the team responsibly.

This role combines execution and judgment, whereby you will design lightweight processes, ensure compliance, and help the company grow without unnecessary bureaucracy.

Key Responsibilities

A. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, documentation)
  • Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, leave management, and statutory filings (directly or via vendors)
  • Work with external advisors on legal, tax, or employment matters when needed

B. Hiring & People Support

  • Coordinate interview processes and candidate communications
  • Support offer preparation, contracts, and onboarding
  • Ensure a smooth and professional candidate and employee experience

C. Other HR Roles

  • Develop and implement clear, startup-appropriate HR policies
  • Establish performance review and feedback processes (lightweight and practical)
  • Support founding team on basic people issues (communication, expectations, etc.)

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR, People Operations, or a related function
  • Experience in startups or fast-moving environments
  • Solid understanding of employment law and HR operations
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal structure
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to international or cross-border employment
  • Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems, and recruitment tools
  • Interest in startup culture and building from scratch
