Job summary

A leading aerospace service provider in Singapore is looking for a Heat Treat Technician to operate vacuum and braze furnaces for heat-treating aircraft components. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in the aerospace or mass manufacturing sector, GCE 'O' level or equivalent, and must be able to perform rotating shifts. Responsibilities include following operational guidelines, maintaining equipment logs, achieving production schedules while adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring quality control of components.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties to operate vacuum and braze furnaces used in heat‑treating aircraft components to meet production schedules and to comply with FAA regulations and customer requirements.
  • Understand and adhere to all work instructions associated with the work you are performing.
  • Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations during course of duties (Proper PPE).
  • Perform jobs in priority order unless instructed otherwise.
  • IAW the required technical data referred to in the job traveler (operation sheets, engine manuals, OEM SPM’s, written instructions from engineering):
    • Determine proper temperature and heat treating procedures.
    • Select proper fixtures. Apply stop off to fixture. Load and secure part onto fixture.
    • Make adjustments as required to ensure proper fit of part to fixture and guard against damage to part.
    • Select proper program, verify and set proper temperature parameters to avoid overheating.
    • Position thermal couples on proper location of part.
    • Follow operations manual for programming of furnace secure door and seal chamber.
    • Start furnace and monitor furnace temperatures regularly throughout the heat treating process.
    • Apply local braze as required and support paint operations.
    • Maintain heat‑treating logs for all furnaces and parts.
    • Perform minor maintenance duties to ovens and fixtures.
    • Report nonconformance’s related to parts, paper work, equipment, tooling or materials to the immediate Cell Leader.
    • Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area.
Qualifications:
  • GCE ‘O’ level/Secondary/NITEC / Technical Certificate or equivalent.
  • 1 - 3 years heat treat experience, preferably in an aerospace or mass manufacturing environment.
  • Able to perform rotating shifts (7.30am to 4.48pm or 7.30pm to 4.48am).
