About the Role

Head of Finance at AIA Investment Management (AIAIM) - responsible for leading and managing all aspects of financial strategy, planning, and operations. Critical for financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives. Report to COO and collaborate with EXCO members, Director of Group CIO Office, AIA Group Finance departments, and oversee the AIA Asset Management Company (AMC) network.

Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic financial planning: develop and oversee long‑term financial strategies aligned with corporate goals and priorities to support sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Financial analysis & projects: perform financial analysis and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership; contribute to finance workstreams for strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: lead and execute the annual budgeting process, track progress, generate forecasts, and recommend strategies to meet/exceed the financial plan.
  • Finance operations: oversee day‑to‑day finance operations including accounting, reporting, expense management, contract management, sourcing, procurement, and payments.
  • Oversight of the AMC network: review monthly/quarterly financial reports, provide guidance on expense management, adherence to IGF standards & AIA Group policies, and budget preparation.
  • Risk management and compliance: identify financial risks, implement mitigation strategies, ensure compliance with MAS regulations and finance governance and control such as finance related IGF policies, Group Finance policies, ICFR control etc.
  • Team leadership and development: lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture and continuous professional development.
  • Stakeholder engagement: collaborate with stakeholders including AIA Group Finance departments, Group Investment, Compliance & Risk, Legal and Governance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 15 years progressive experience in financial leadership roles of a regulated asset manager or equivalent; insurance AMC experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate executive presence to engage with senior stakeholders, C‑suite executives, and the Board of Directors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or chartered/certified Accountant preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of MAS regulations, capital markets industry, with knowledge in derivatives and private markets a plus.
