From a functional perspective, this person would be responsible for leading the engineering team and work closely with product, marketing & community management teams.

This role seeks excellence across engineering disciplines including data processing, quality assurance, application development, analytics, machine learning, algorithms, and data warehousing. The candidate must have experience with latest technologies such as Python/ Django/ NodeJS/ React.

Location: Company is headquartered in Singapore. We thrive on virtual teams and getting the right talent is priority for us irrespective of location. So the person can be based anywhere in Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities

• Manages Day-to-day activities of the engineering teams as well as the management and execution of site/software development/ hardware projects against delivery commitments and project plans.
• Management of the function's staffing, resources, and mentoring, and maintaining a best-in‑class engineering department.
• Planning, management, execution and implementation of software projects, inclusive of the day-to-day project management, scope management, issue and risk management, as well as regular status reporting.
• Stays abreast of leading and cutting‑edge technologies and industry best practices.

Skills Required

• Master's degree in Computer Science or any relevant field.
• 7‑10 years of working experience in senior front end or back end position.
• Needs to have strong experience in software development with focus on latest technologies such as Python/ Django/ NodeJS/ React.
• Work experience in consumer tech/ marketplaces/ e‑commerce/ automotive (preferred).
• Must be intellectually curious, eager to learn, self‑motivated, detail oriented, and able to multitask.
• Positive mental attitude, high energy, high integrity, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, Willing to go the extra mile.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment; you’ll have guidance when you need it, but you’re also goal oriented and can execute without close supervision.
