Job description
Job Purpose

This role is responsible for reviewing global applications and processes to ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and AI regulations, in alignment with Express and DHL Group standards. You will serve as a subject matter expert on privacy for application and process architects, as well as regional and local Data Protection Officers (DPOs). Compliance will be managed through the internal DPR/PIA process within the Privacy Center of Excellence (CoE).

The position can be based in Cyberjaya (Malaysia), Bonn (Germany), Diegem (Belgium), or Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

How you will contribute to our success:

  • Assess and validate processing activities for compliance through the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) process.
  • Prepare and maintain PIAs and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk processing activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to local and regional DPOs on data protection, privacy, and AI-related matters.
  • Develop and update training materials on data protection and privacy.
  • Monitor privacy risk management and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Assist in engagements with Data Protection Authorities at global, regional, and country levels.
  • Support incident management in the event of data breaches.
  • Apply expertise in data protection and privacy legislation to ensure all required documentation is maintained.
Do you have what it takes?
  • Degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience providing legal advice.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data protection and privacy legislation.
  • Previous experience as a DPO or Assistant DPO (3+ years) is an advantage.
  • DPO certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • AI Compliance certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage.
