A leading electronics company in Singapore is seeking a General Manager to oversee strategic direction and performance of the electronics business. This role requires over 15 years in the electronics industry and proven leadership in P&L management. The candidate will drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and manage customer relationships. The ideal applicant will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an MBA preferred, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in the electronics industry (EMS, OEM, ODM, semiconductor, or related sectors).
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role (GM, Plant Director, Business Director, or equivalent).
  • Strong P&L management experience with demonstrated business growth achievements.
  • Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, supply chain, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the overall business strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share in electronics manufacturing and solutions.
  • Lead annual operating plans, budgets, and long-term investment strategies.

General Manager (Electronics)
Role Overview

The General Manager (Electronics) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and performance of the electronics business. This role oversees P&L, operations, sales, engineering, quality, and supply chain, ensuring sustainable growth, operational excellence, and strong customer relationships across regional and global markets.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
  • Define and execute the overall business strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share in electronics manufacturing and solutions.
  • Identify and develop new markets, customers, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead annual operating plans, budgets, and long-term investment strategies.
P&L & Financial Management
  • Full ownership of P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin optimization.
  • Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Drive productivity improvements and CAPEX planning.
Operations & Manufacturing Excellence
  • Oversee end-to-end operations including production, engineering, quality, procurement, supply chain, and logistics.
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, IATF, IPC, EHS, ESG requirements where applicable).
Technology, Engineering & Innovation
  • Provide leadership to engineering and technical teams across electronics design, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Drive adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, Industry 4.0, digitalization).
  • Support NPI/NPD activities, ensuring speed-to-market and manufacturability.
Sales, Customer & Key Account Management
  • Work closely with sales and commercial teams to strengthen customer relationships and retention.
  • Act as senior escalation point for key customers and strategic accounts.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through quality, delivery, and service excellence.
People & Organizational Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team.
  • Foster a strong performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive succession planning, talent development, and organizational capability building.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Champion health, safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field); MBA or Master’s degree is an advantage.
