Job Description
  • Direct and supervise all employees of the branch in accordance with the orders of the director in charge of operations (including his/her supervisor) and the policies of the Japanese head office, and handle all business, administrative, and personnel management matters at the branch.
  • Supervision of branch operations (overall management of branch operations, formulation and execution of business strategies and work plans, formulation of strategies to achieve targets, local deployment and implementation of head office policies)
  • Sales activities (developing new customers, strengthening relationships with existing customers, researching and analyzing local markets, planning and implementing sales promotion activities)
  • Compliance and risk management (adherence to local and Japanese laws and regulations, establishment and maintenance of compliance systems, identification and countermeasures for risks)
  • Human Resources Management (recruitment, training, and evaluation of local staff, labor management including dispatched staff, team motivation and organizational strength enhancement)
  • Financial management (formulate and manage budgets, oversee income and expenditures, and implement measures to reduce costs and improve profitability)
  • Coordination and reporting with head office (regular performance reporting and communication of important matters to the head office, smooth communication with head office and other overseas offices)
Requirements
  • Over 20 years of experience in a financial institution, with the last 10 years required.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a manager in a financial institution.
  • Japanese language skills are required to build relationships with Japanese corporate clients using Japanese, give presentations to executives at the head office and prepare materials for those presentations, and prepare reports and planning documents in Japanese for all related parties.
  • In-depth understanding of Japanese financial regulations, laws, guidelines, and information security, as compliance with Japanese as well as Singaporean financial regulations is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
