Position Overview

Ruder Finn seeks to recruit an experienced, dynamic, innovative, and service oriented professional for the position of General Manager of RF Singapore.

The selected candidate will be a crucial part of the Asia Pacific executive management team of Ruder Finn, and report directly the head of Asia. Based in Singapore, the selected candidate is expected to work closely with more than 20+ offices and affiliates of Ruder Finn across the region.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the overall P&L of RF Singapore, continue to building a healthy organization balancing profit and sustainable development.
  • Lead a constructive and “family business culture”, building RF Singapore into an integrated, innovative, and client-oriented communications agency preferred by professionals and clients.
  • Recruit and build a strong and growing team. Boost staff learning and development to embrace new-age communications.
Specific duties
Client Servicing and Experience – 30%
  • Provide exemplary senior counsel to clients
  • Grow and nurture client relationships
  • Ensure extraordinary account service and continue to win newbiz from current clients
New Business – 30%
  • Streamlining the top 3 high priority/ high impact practice industries/sectors in Singapore
  • Develop new business opportunities in Singapore
  • Work with Ruder Finn owned offices like Hong Kong, Malaysia and India and affiliates across Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, Japan and Australia, to
  • Open new business leads
    Work across the network teams on pitches
  • Collaborate and work closely with market leaders/business leaders across Ruder Finn offices to drive new business growth with focus on key industries and sectors
Brand Marketing and New Business Efforts 20%
  • Be the face and brand of Ruder Finn in Singapore.
  • Grows network and market the brand to existing and new potential clients
HR, processes, and systems – 20%
  • Work with regional HR team to build and deploy complete HR system, including:
    • Recruitment system
    • HR training and development system
    • Performance management system
  • Working with regional Finance team to operate in a healthy finance ecosystem –
    • Annual, quarterly and monthly budgeting
    • Monthly performance review and revisit
    • Key benchmark monthly reports
    • Create base templates for pitch process including deciphering RFP, creating the pitch, chapter layout, strategic framework etc.
    • Build RF templates and SOPs for new clients, so that the experience across markets is unified
    • Create more opportunities across markets for knowledge sharing and capacities exchange
What you will need
  • Over 10 years communications agency experiences. Past experiences in leading PR agencies is a plus. A solid PR professional and an outstanding people and business manager, with track record in retention teams and growing agency portfolios.
  • A strategic thinker who is genuinely curious about communications and management, in both today and tomorrow’s business world.
  • A high degree of comfort with numbers and in-depth communications metrics. Your strategic recommendations are based on a deep understanding of business.
  • Keen in new media and new technology and how it can be brought to bear on delivering insightful ideas and communications that will move the client’s business.
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to influence senior management both internal and external.
  • A mentor and a team player, ready to support and guide, not micromanage. Understand when and how to delegate. Always ready to grow the young generations.
