Programme: Overseas Markets Immersion Programme (OMIP)

Job Role Description

We are seeking a talented Furniture Designer to join our dynamic team at STAR FURNITURE PTE LTD. In this role, you will play a key part in creating innovative and visually stunning furniture pieces that meet the needs of our discerning customers. This role is being considered under the Overseas Markets Immersion Programme (OMIP). Consequently, the potential candidate would be required to adhere to the terms and conditions set out by the programme.

This position is required to attached to our production base in China, where you will work closely with a team of skilled designers and craftsmen. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of exciting projects, collaborate on new concepts, and help drive the company’s growth and success.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Conduct market research and stay updated on design trends and industry innovations.
2. Develop and present innovative furniture designs to internal stakeholders
3. Create detailed sketches, renderings, and 3D models
4. Select appropriate materials, finishes, and construction methods.
5. Collaborate with engineers and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
6. Prepare technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
7. Manage design projects within established timelines and budgets.
8. Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
9. Contribute to the development of the company's design language and brand identity.
10. Maintain organized design files and documentation.

Qualification

2. Degree/Diploma in Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, or related fields.

What we're looking for

1. A degree / Diploma in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related field
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in furniture design, preferably in a fast-paced, creative environment
3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
4. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, technical constraints, and sustainability principles
5. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
7. Passion for creating innovative and functional furniture designs
8. Willingness to be based in China full-time

5 days’ week

Working hours

Mon – Fri: 8am – 6pm
Lunch Break: 12pm – 2pm
